Parent Education Series: District to host three Parent Engage 360 events in 2023-24

Anoka-Hennepin is hosting three Parent Engage 360 community and parent education events during the 2023-24 school year. These events aim to provide resources for parents and guardians to support their students and others in the community.

Be the Nice Kid: Jefferson Elementary students learn about the impact of kindness
(09/15/2023) Chants of “BE THE NICE KID” could be heard through the halls of Jefferson Elementary School Sept. 14, as Bryan Skavnak, the founder of the organization Be the Nice Kid, entertained and educated students on how to spread kindness through being nice.

Dazzling Dave, National Yo-Yo Master, visits Jefferson
(05/31/2023) On May 22, students were entertained by Dazzling Dave, a National Yo-Yo Master. Dave is the brother-in-law to the school's social worker, Mike Kochendofer.

Special Education Advisory Council Resource Information Night set for April 4
(03/27/2024) The Anoka-Hennepin Schools Special Education Advisory Council (SEAC) is hosting a resource information night on Thursday, April 4 for families of students with special needs to learn about resources available in the community.

After-school and evening activities canceled for Tuesday, March 26, 2024, afternoon transportation schedules modified
(03/26/2024) Due to changing weather and road conditions impacting travel throughout the afternoon and early evening hours, the district is making adjustments to afternoon schedules for the safety of students and staff.

No school Monday, March 25, 2024, activities canceled due to winter weather conditions
(03/25/2024) Due to portions of the district with unplowed roads and sidewalks impacting morning travel, school will be canceled today, Monday, March 25, 2024. Conditions are expected to improve throughout the day and the regularly scheduled School Board meeting will be held as planned. All other after-school and eventing activities will be canceled.

District to monitor weather conditions over the weekend
(03/22/2024) Parents should expect that unless school or activities are called off and a message is sent by the district, school buses are running and the district plans to operate as usual.
