Coon Rapids High School (CRHS) is a large community school for grades nine through 12 in the north metro (Minneapolis-St. Paul) area. We pride ourselves on our ability to bring out the best in our diverse range of students.
We have a caring and dedicated staff that strives to bring new and innovative experiences into the classroom. We are committed to providing opportunities that will help every student reach his or her potential, and we have many resources and accommodations available for students of all abilities. Advanced coursework is available, and so are our supportive and caring special education and English learners departments.
In 2013, CRHS introduced the Project Lead the Way Biomedical Sciences program, which gives students the opportunity to act as medical professionals and fosters the critical thinking and problem solving skills needed to meet the challenges of healthcare in the 21st century. We also offer a range of advanced, distance learning courses in our TelePresence classroom. Students are able to take high level language, business and math classes in the TelePresence room, even if the course is only offered at another high school. This helps ensure that our students have access to rigorous courses that meet their interests, no matter where they are located in our district.
While they are enrolled at CRHS, many of our students take advantage of the option to earn college credits free of charge through the Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO) and College in the Schools (CIS) programs. These opportunities set students on the path to pursuing higher education and are especially important for eliminating barriers for financially disadvantaged and first generation college students.
At CRHS, our students are our first priority. During the time they spend walking our halls, they will be both challenged and cared for as only members of the Cardinal family are.
