Come and get more information. Open houses begin this month and run through January.
Anoka-Hennepin has a variety of specialty/magnet schools that feature customized curriculum, including arts, aerospace, engineering, biomedical sciences, math and science. There’s something for every student.
- Coon Rapids High School Biomedical Sciences and Engineering Program, 2340 Northdale Blvd., Coon Rapids: Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 7 p.m.; website: ahschools.us/crhs.
- Jackson Middle School, A Specialty School for Math and Science, 6000 109th Ave. N, Champlin: Wednesday, Dec. 7, starting at 5:30 p.m.; website: ahschools.us/jms.
- Monroe Elementary School for Mathematics, Science and Children’s Engineering, 901 Brookdale Drive N, Brooklyn Park: Thursday, Dec. 8, from 6 to 7 p.m.; website: ahschools.us/monroe.
- Anoka High School, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM), 3939 Seventh Ave. N, Anoka: Thursday, Dec. 8, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.; website: ahschools.us/ahs.

- Secondary Technical Education Program (STEP), 1353 W Highway 10, Anoka: Thursday, Jan. 12, from 3 to 7:30 p.m.; website: ahschools.us/step.
Applications for admittance to the specialty/magnet schools vary. For Champlin-Brooklyn Park Academy, Evergreen Park, Lincoln, Jackson Middle School and Anoka High School, Anoka-Hennepin students must apply via in-district transfer. Applications must be postmarked by Jan. 15, 2017.
For Monroe, University Avenue, Anoka Middle School, Blaine High School and Coon Rapids High School, applications must be done online and completed by Dec. 31. All applications will be available Dec. 1 at the schools or on the district’s website, ahschools.us/enrollment.
Students enroll for the Secondary Technical Education Program (STEP), or Champlin Park High School International Baccalaureate (IB) program through the regular high school registration process. Anoka-Hennepin students who do not live in the Champlin Park High School attendance area must apply for an in-district transfer.
