Anoka-Hennepin names elementary, secondary special education directors
The Anoka-Hennepin School District has filled its vacant elementary and secondary special education director positions.
Melissa Hayes has been selected as the director of elementary special education and Stacey Dahlby has been selected as the director of secondary special education.
Hayes is currently a special education supervisor with Anoka-Hennepin schools, a position she’s held for six years. She has worked for the Anoka-Hennepin School District since 2001, and has spent time as an intervention specialist, administrative intern, secondary special education lead, and special education cluster consultant.
Prior to working for Anoka-Hennepin, Melissa worked as a special education teacher for the Spring Grove School District. He earned her bachelor’s degree in special education from St. Cloud State University and her master’s degree in special education from the St. Mary’s University. She also has teaching and administrative licensures.
Dahlby is currently a special education facilitator with Edina Public Schools. Previously Dahlby was the assistant director of student services in Edina, and also worked in the Roseville Area School District as student services supervisor and student services coordinator. Dahlby also has experience as a school psychologist and autism inclusion specialist.
Dahlby earned her bachelor’s degree in child psychology from the University of Minnesota — Twin Cities and her master’s degree in school psychology from the University of Wisconsin — Stout. She also has teaching and administrative licensures.
Both will begin in their new roles on July 1, 2017.
