Summer classes and activities for kids ages three to 14 years of age, districtwide
(5/1/15) Summer is a great time to meet friends, learn new things and build on academic skills in preparation for the upcoming school year!
The Community Schools program is excited to provide fun activities and learning opportunities for children districtwide. Classes are designed to appeal to the interests of youth while providing experiences that support learning and growth over the summer. Classes begin as early as June 12 and run through July.

Registration is first-come, first-serve. Families may register online or in person at the
Community Education office located at 2727 North Ferry Street, Anoka.
Limited fee assistance is available for eligible students. Call the Anoka-Hennepin Community Schools
office with questions at 763-506-4812.
Classes for preschoolers, too
Enrichment classes, activities and recreational athletic programs are also available for children ages three to six, designed to encourage participation and independence. Programs are held at various Anoka-Hennepin Schools across the district, intended to help introduce young children to the school and classroom setting in preparation for kindergarten and beyond.
Summer splashing and swimming, rain or shine
Roosevelt Community Pool is a full service indoor pool facility offering recreational swim, swimming lessons,
adult exercise classes and rental for groups. Children age six and younger must be accompanied by a paid,
swimming adult in the water. Open swim is $3 for youth and $3.25 for adults.
Open swim: June 15 – August 7
(Closed July 3)
• Mondays-Wednesdays from 1-4 p.m.
• Tuesdays from 7:15-8:45 p.m.
Experience the WIBIT – an inflatable obstacle course during additional open swim sessions:
(Closed for afternoon swim June 17, 22-24, 26 and July 8)
• Thursdays from 1-4 p.m. and 7:15-8:45 p.m.
• Fridays from 1-4 p.m.
• Wibit participants must be age seven and up with strong swimming skills.
