    PARENT/GUARDIAN VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT:

Due to the incredible need for labor and the high costs of putting on a full-scale theatrical production, there is a parent volunteer hours requirement which includes a $100 potentially refundable deposit.  For every hour a parent volunteers to work on the set, postering, ushering, house managing, selling concessions/flower/tickets they earn $10 of the deposit back. Volunteer 10 hours and you earn $100 back!  This money will go to hire additional staff to cover areas that we seem to no longer have family support to take care of. This commitment is a per production requirement.

    SHOW SUMMARIES:

Charlotte’s Web is based on the famous novel by E.B. White.  The story follows the lovable Wilbur, the pig,  and his friendships with the other animals on the farm.  However trouble arises when Wilbur’s life is in danger and his friend Charlotte, the spider, must come up with a plan to save him!

Disney’s Mary Poppins JR follows the story of the  jack-of-all trades, Bert, who introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures and even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that "Anything can happen if you let it."

    WHAT TO PREPARE FOR AUDITIONS:

Students who wish to audition must prepare and memorize a 30-second monologue  (a short speech from a play). The monologue can be comedic or dramatic. You can find one on your own or there will be some sample monologues available outside Room 20 at Fred Moore and Portable Room 5 at Washington.  If you wish to audition for Seussical, in addition to a monologue, you will need to also prepare 30-45 seconds of a song (aprox. 16 bars of music). Please bring the sheet music or a karaoke version of your song on CD or on your electronic device.  There will be sample songs available outside Room 20 at Fred Moore and Portable Room 5 at Washington or you can find a song on your own. If you choose your own song it should be from a musical.

    CALL BACKS:

On the morning of Tuesday December 18 a Callback List will be posted outside Portable Room 5 at Washington and outside Room 20 at Fred Moore. Callbacks for Charlotte’s Web will be on Wednesday, December 19  from 3:10-5:00 and callbacks for Disney’s Mary Poppins JR will be Thursday, December 20 from 3:10-5:00pm.
