• I can tell the difference between specialized cells in multicellular organisms, such as nerve cells (receive and transmit signals), muscle cells (contract and relax), skin cells (provide protection), bone cells (provide support) and blood cells (carry gases).
    I can recognize that specialized cells in multicellular organisms are organized into tissues (muscle, nerve, skin) and tissues into organs and organs into organ systems that perform special jobs.
    I can understand that cells divide to make more for growth and repair. 
    I can identify differences between plant and animal cells (cell wall, chloroplasts, central vacuole). 
    I can use microscopes to compare and contrast plant and animal cells.
