• Assignment books - These planners are due back signed by a parent or guardian on Monday or the first day of the week.  This is also a great opportunity to communicate with the teachers.  Please feel free to write notes or questions in the planner and we will get back to you.

Book-It - As noted on the calendar itself.

    Why read independently?

    1.  As with any skill, if you want to become better, you need to practice!  The more you read, the better reader you become.

    2.  This is the majority of reading homework and is due at the beginning of each new month. The minimum monthly goal is 30 minutes 6 days a week.  They may count the minutes that they read at home for Literature Circles.

Tests and other homework are noted in our assignment books. The students must fill these in every day.  If there is no homework, the student should be noting that by writing 'none' or 'no homework'.

Project due dates will be noted.  We hold the students responsible for this information.  Please note that other than our daily home reading (Book-It) most of our  reading and writing work are done in the classroom.  Therefore, there is not a lot of additional homework involved.
