• Q: Does my child have homework every night?

A: Yes. Students should read every night and record on Reading Calendar, as well as practice weekly spelling words. Student's Reading Calendar will be homework throughout the year. Also watch for some math homework called HOME LINKS (copied on pink paper). Each math unit has a different number of home links. It is very important to complete the home links as it serves as ongoing learning for our math curriculum. If possible, please return the math homework the next day.

I know families are very busy with activities during the week. There may be a night you may not get to work on homework. That is understandable. Please return homework once it is completed.
  • Q :  How much should my child be reading?
A:  Students should try to read at least 15 minutes every night. The books they read should be ones that they can read independently without a lot of assistance. I also encourage you to read with your child.
  • Q:  Do the students go outside everyday?
A:   Yes, most of the time.  We encourage the students to get some fresh air and exercise at recess time. The reasons the students would stay in are rain or when the temperature or wind chill is below zero. In the Winter, please be sure your child dresses appropriately with a coat, snow pants, gloves/mittens, hat and boots.

  • Q:   What time is lunch?

A: Our lunch time is 11:05am-11:35am. Adult lunches are $3.60.   We'd love to have you join us!

  • Q:    May I send a treat for my child's birthday?
A:  Yes, of course! Remember, the snack must be commercially made due to state health regulations. Please do not send a cake (it's too hard to cut up and serve). We prefer healthy treats! We currently have 18 students.
