Fitness assessments are taken throughout each elementary school year. Categories of testing are Cardiovascular Endurance, Muscular Flexibility, Muscular Strength & Muscular Endurance. The purpose of the assessments or "Fitness Checks" is for children to see where their fitness levels are. Please use the results as a tool to work on setting goals and improving personal fitness. Do not focus on the letter grade, as I grade on effort, attitude, trying THEIR personal best. The ultimate goal is for children to improve their fitness tests from year to year. Any type of improvement is awesome!
Please encourage your child to do their personal best on these tests. Physical Education Specialists offer a variety of opportunities for students try new skills for a challenge to enhance their fitness experience. We encourage students to be active at school, home and in the community. Students will learn the importance of how lifelong activities promote personal health and physical fitness. Personal fitness is a life long journey…have fun with it!
