Welcome to our Classroom Website!
I am so excited to be a part of the 2nd grade team and Monroe Elementary this 2018-2019 school year! It is my twelfth year of teaching and my fourth-year teaching 2nd grade. I have 8 years of Kindergarten experience, so it has been fun working with more independent learners and more advanced readers, writers and thinkers! I graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2007 and attended Saint Mary's University for my Masters in Literacy Education and also received my K-12 Reading License in 2013. I have a passion for reading, but I love exploring science and math with my students, too. I think watching a student have that light bulb moment while using their science or math minds is so rewarding! Ask your child about our classroom goal this year of having a growth mindset. Knowing that you can learn at any age is such a gift. I want my students to feel challenged and know that even if they don't know the answer yet, they still have the power to grow!
Thank you for supporting your student's education. I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success! Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
