Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
The Mississippi Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is an excellent way to become involved in your child's education. All Mississippi parents and staff, as well as community members, are welcome to attend meetings and volunteer time at the school. The PTO sponsors several activities and fundraisers throughout the year that benefit the students and the school as a whole.Mississippi is always in need of volunteers willing to spend their time helping the school and the students. Please consider volunteering your time, whether you have a lot of time or just a little. The Volunteer link on the left will give you more information.
PTO meetings are usually held the third Thursday of each month in the school's Media Center, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. See this year's meeting dates on the right. Refreshments and free child care are provided. Children will enjoy supervised fun in the gym while you attend the meeting. Feel free to join us, even if you can only come periodically throughout the year. We look forward to seeing you."Mississippi Elementary PTO is about men and women working together toward a common goal. That goal is creating a better school and a better educational experience for our children. We strive to create an atmosphere where teachers and administrators can do their best work - and so can our children." - Jim Besst, former Mississippi PTO president
