215.0 Criteria for School Board Recognition of students & staff
CRITERIA FOR SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNITION OF STUDENTS AND STAFF
Students
The Board will publicly recognize students who:
- Have placed first, second or third in a state competition or a substantive regional competition entered through the school, e.g. the St. Cloud Math contest (does not include Anoka-Hennepin District competition).
- Have earned “all state” honors in a non-competitive area such as band, choir, or orchestra.
- Have won or placed highly in a national or international competition if entry was organized by the school or teacher.
- Have won a national scholarship
- Have been elected officer of a state or a national student organization.
- Have earned AP Scholar recognition.
- Have achieved substantial district academic learning growth, (as documented by data to include gains of several grade levels of growth, or top 5% of district students in academic growth, etc).
- Have won a Minnesota State Fair Blue Ribbon, if entry to the Fair was organized by the school or teacher.
- Have won at Destination Imagination at the Global competition level.
- Have given extraordinary service (saved person's life, led an outstanding community service, etc.).
Staff
The Board will publicly recognize staff members who:
- Have been selected to represent the state in a national or international program.
- Have won a state or national award in competition.
- Have been elected an officer of a state or national professional organization.
- Have written or developed an outstanding professional work.
- Have given extraordinary service (saved a person's life, given outstanding community service, etc.).
Community Members
The Board will publicly recognize community members and organizations who:
- Have performed extraordinary service for schools.
- As an individual or a non-school related group, have contributed $10,000 or more to the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
