CACC Purpose and Process

Community Curriculum Advisory Committee
(Formerly Systems Accountability Committee - Re-purposed via CIAC Committee 9-17-2014)

Facilitated by the Directors of Curriculum, Assessment & Instruction

Purpose

• To review pre K-16 curriculum, assessment, and instructional programming through a community lens.
• To provide information to and request feedback from Parent Teacher Associations, Parent Teacher Organizations, and Parent Advisory Committees in each building regarding curriculum, assessment and instructional programming.
• To provide input and feedback to the Curriculum Advisory Council (CAC).
• To provide input and feedback to the School Board regarding academic programs.

Membership

• Pre K parent/guardian representative, 1 from an early childhood site
• Elementary (K-5) parent/guardian representative, 1 per school
• Middle school parent/guardian representative, 1 per school
• High School parent/guardian representative, 1 per school
• Alternative programs parent/guardian representative, 1 from an alternative site
• Community members, 1 per cluster for a total of 5

Membership is solicited by: building principals, executive director of community education and government relations, and School Board members.

• Community members will be residents of the school cluster they represent, not have currently enrolled students in AH Schools, and complete an application with an explanation of their interest in CCAC.
• Community members will serve for one (1) year.
• New CCAC members will be approved annually in October by the School Board Chair. If either community or school representatives are unable to fulfill their commitment, the position will not be replaced during their membership period.
