Ms. Burns US Studies 7
Hello! I have been in education for 8 years in many roles. I've taught ESL In Minnesota and abroad, worked in Special Education and this is my third year teaching Social Studies. I am so excited to be at Northdale and to get to work with the amazing students students we have at NMS. This will be a fun year learning about our country's past and how we've come to where we are, as well as keeping up with current events. We will learn to have meaningful and respectful conversations about the issues.

We will be using Google Classroom for many of our assignments. That can be accessed through Google Apps or through this link.
We will watch the student news in class from time to time, but students are welcome to watch in their own time as well. We will watch CNN10 because it is specifically designed for student viewers but I encourage students to look at multiple news outlets outside of class as we learn about sourcing, corroboration of facts, bias and perspectives.
