Welcome to Ms. Lecy's Classroom Website!
This is my second year teaching in the Anoka-Hennepin school district, and fifth year of teaching overall. I grew up in Apple Valley, MN, and then attended the College of St. Benedict for my undergraduate studies, where I studied history and education. Although I originally thought I wanted to teach high school, I completed part of my student teaching in a seventh grade classroom and I discovered my passion for teaching middle school. After graduation, I accepted a position teaching sixth grade Minnesota Studies at Sartell Middle School, where I remained for three years. Then, I decided it was time to move closer to family and friends in the Twin Cities and I began teaching sixth grade at Northdale Middle School, before moving to AMSA this fall. Throughout my teaching career I have tried to continue to grow as an educator and mentor, involving myself in school committees, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities. In 2017, I graduated from St. Mary's University with my master's degree in Learning Design and Technology.
In my spare time, I enjoy coaching the girls swim team at Anoka High School, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the Twin Cities area.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I look forward to having a great school year together and watching your son or daughter grow, both as a student and as a person. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
