Welcome to Ms. Lecy's Classroom Website!
This is my second year teaching at AMSA, and sixth year of teaching overall. I grew up in Apple Valley, MN, and then attended the College of St. Benedict for my undergraduate studies, where I studied history and education. Although I originally thought I wanted to teach high school, I completed part of my student teaching in a seventh grade classroom and I discovered my passion for teaching middle school. After graduation, I accepted a position teaching sixth grade Minnesota Studies at Sartell Middle School, where I remained for three years. Then, I decided it was time to move closer to family and friends in the Twin Cities area and I began teaching sixth grade at Northdale Middle School, before moving to AMSA last year. Throughout my teaching career I have tried to continue to grow as an educator and mentor, involving myself in school committees, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities. In 2017, I graduated from St. Mary's University with my master's degree in Learning Design and Technology.
In my spare time, I enjoy coaching both the girls and boys swim teams at Anoka High School, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the Twin Cities area.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I look forward to having a great school year together and watching your son or daughter grow, both as a student and as a person. Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have any questions or concerns.
