My name is Jessica Ness-Manary and I am the School Social Worker at McKinley Elementary. This is my second year at McKinley Elementary and I am so excited to be a part of this community. Prior to McKinley, I worked part-time at Franklin Elementary and also have worked in various non-profit agencies throughout my career.
My husband and I live in Andover with our two boys. I love to read, travel and watch my kids play in various sports.
My role is to help the teacher, student and family identify and address issues that may prevent the student from being successful in the school setting. I provide classroom guidance lessons to all grade levels focusing on self-regulation and social/emotional learning. I facilitate many student support groups to help address the needs of the students. I also meet with students individually. Some common reasons for referral would be:
- family change
- grief and loss
- anxiety - excessive worries
- new student adjustment
- friendship difficulties
- attendance concerns
- self-esteem concerns
Additionally, I am here as a resource to assist families in connecting with available community resources and can provide referrals to appropriate agencies.
Please feel free to call or email me with any concerns regarding your child's social/emotional needs.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
