I am entering my 4th year teaching at Coon Rapids High School however, this is my 14th year of teaching special education. I have taught in the Anoka-Hennepin School District for 9 years and started my career in the Forest Lake School District. Throughout my educational career I have had the opportunity to teach all grade levels.

Teaching is not my first profession; upon graduating high school, I attended Minnesota State University, Mankato as I aspired to be a prison warden. That's right, I dreamt of running a prison. A couple years after entering the corrections work world, I returned to school at the University of St. Thomas to gain my Master's Degree in teaching Special Education in the area of Emotional and Behavioral Disorders and a licensure in Specific Learning Disabilities from Augsburg University. 

I got married this past summer. I grew up and Coon Rapids and my husband and I live about 3 miles from my childhood home. I have no children or pets. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, photography, live music, movies, and motorcycling.
