My name is Mrs. Houle, and I am so excited to be teaching your child this year! This is my 8th year teaching in the Anoka Hennepin district. I am coming to Brookside from University Avenue Elementary. I am so excited to be part of this wonderful staff and have the opportunity to create an amazing new learning environment for students.
My husband Cliff and I have been married for 30 years. We have 4 amazing Children; Brianna (27), Taylor (25), Isaac (16) and Connor (15). Our daughter Brianna has been married for a few years. Our son Taylor is engaged and will be getting married in April. Isaac and Connor (high school) keep us busy with sports and activities. Our youngest son Connor will be getting his license this spring, so that will be interesting. With the older two gone, it is feeling a little quieter in our home. It must have started to feel too quiet, because last summer we got a new puppy. Her name is Chloe. She is super cute and super naughty. She is a year old now, so she is starting to mellow out, but I am sure your child will come home with plenty of Chloe stories. In my spare time I enjoy quilting, reading, painting, drawing and gardening.
I received my Bachelor of Science from Augsburg University and my Masters of Teaching and Learning from Saint Mary's University. I love to learn new things about how the brain works and share that with students. I am also a newly certified facilitator for The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. I absolutely love teaching and am very excited for this school year. Fourth grade holds some amazing opportunities for your children to grow. It is an amazing age when students are more independent and eager to learn new things. It's going to be an amazing year.
