    Welcome to my classroom website!

This is my 6th year teaching in special education. I started out my career as a special education teacher at Farmington High School after graduating from Winona State University. During my time at Farmington High School I decided to go back to school to get my Masters in Special Education focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).  In the mean time, I met my amazing husband and we decided to move into the Anoka County area where I worked at St. Francis Middle School as a special education teacher. I am super excited to be starting at Oak View Middle School this year!

I have always wanted to be a teacher, but originally I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. After taking some special education introduction classes at Winona State, I decided to double major in Elementary Education and Special Education: Learning Disabilities. As I mentioned before, while at Farmington High School I went back for my Masters at St. Thomas University focusing on learning more about Autism Spectrum Disorder. I had the pleasure at Farmington to co teach a social skills class and discovered my passion was working with students with Autsim.

When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband, our son, and our two dogs. Together we enjoy fishing, taking our dogs for walks, finding projects to do around the house, and spending time with our families. During the summer time we love going up to the cabin for a week with our family. I also love finding a good book to read, even if it is a children's book to read to my son.

Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
