Welcome to my classroom website!
This is my 8th year of teaching in special education. I started out my career as a special education teacher at Farmington High School after graduating from Winona State University. During my time at Farmington High School, I decided to go back to school to get my Masters in Special Education focusing on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). In the mean time, I met my amazing husband and we decided to move into the Anoka County area where I worked at St. Francis Middle School as a special education teacher. This will be my second year working at Oak View!
I have always wanted to be a teacher, but originally I wanted to be an elementary school teacher. After taking some special education introduction classes at Winona State, I decided to double major in Elementary Education and Special Education: Learning Disabilities. As I mentioned before, while at Farmington High School I went back for my Masters at St. Thomas University focusing on learning more about Autism Spectrum Disorder. I had the pleasure at Farmington to co-teach a social skills class and discovered my passion was working with students with Autsim.
When I am not teaching, I am spending time with my husband, our son, and our dog. Together we enjoy fishing, exploring new walking paths/parks, finding projects to do around the house, and spending time with our families. During the summertime, we love going up to the cabin for a week with our family. I also love finding a good book to read, even if it is a children's book to read to my son.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!Check out my google site I've created - - Click Here
