Welcome to Room 3JO!
My name is Jon Olson, and I am so thrilled to be a teacher here at Andover Elementary. I've wanted to be a teacher since I was in the third grade. I grew up just down the street in Circle Pines, Minnesota. I can remember how my third grade teacher, Mr. VanAlstine, helped me believe in myself. He encouraged me to work hard and helped me develop a love for learning. I remember thinking waaaaay back then, "That's what I want to do someday". Now my dream has come true and I have the privilege of working with awesome third graders each day! My hope is that my students can develop that same love of learning that I was given in third grade.
I graduated from Bethel University in 1999, and more recently I received my Master's Degree from St. Mary's University. I loved my time at college! I traveled all over the country with the choir on a music scholarship. I also played football for the Bethel Royals while my wife Kristin was a cheerleader there (she's a teacher, too!). We have been married for 20 years! My wife and I live in Blaine with our FIVE amazing kiddo's. Our minivan is almost as full as our hearts now!
