Meet Mrs. Wood
Hello! I am happy to embark on my 10th year in Anoka-Hennepin, and sixth year as Curriculum Integrator/Specialty School Program Coordinator at EPWCCS. I taught first grade at Evergreen for two years, prior to the change to our current specialty school focus. Prior to that, I taught first grade at Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts in Anoka.
I completed my undergraduate degree at The University of St. Thomas, and received my Master of Arts in Teaching from Chapman University in Orange, California. While living in California for 4 years I was able to gain a wonderfully diverse teaching experience.
I completed my K-12 education in the Anoka-Hennepin school district and am a graduate of Anoka High School! I currently live in Southwest Minneapolis with my husband, two daughters and two dogs. I have an arts background, and am happy to bring my passion for Arts and Culture into my work at EPWCCS.
At EPWCCS, I work with outside organizations, as well as teachers to integrate Community, Culture, Arts and Experiences into our daily learning. I design and plan experiences for each of our grade levels, as well as coordinate field trips that tie into learning. I also help create and maintain community connections and partnerships, and plan school events. In addition, I am an ENVoY coach and work with teaching staff on the practice and implementation of their non-verbal and classroom management techniques.
