Welcome to our Classroom Website
Welcome! My name is Paula Evander. This is my 23rd year of teaching. I am a product of District 11 and attended Riverview Elementary, Jackson Middle School and graduated from Anoka High School.
I began my career as a middle school science and reading teacher. After four years as a classroom teacher, I began supporting classrooms as a Title 1 teacher focusing on math and reading skills. I developed a love of teaching students with special needs, so returned to St. Cloud State University to begin my master's program in Special Education.
I have taught in Anoka-Hennepin schools since 2002. Prior to Anoka-Hennepin ISD 11, I taught in North St. Paul-Maplewood-Oakdale ISD 622 and Princeton Public Schools. I have taught students at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
I have my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and my Master's in Special Education with licenses in Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Cognitive Disorders - Mild/Moderate and Moderate/Severe (DCD). I have extensive experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Other Health Disabilities (OHD), Developmental Cognitive Disorders (DCD), and Emotional/Behavior Disorders (EBD).
I look forward to working with your family and helping your child reach their highest potential.
