Welcome to Supplemental Programs!
Monroe knows me as Ms. C.-J!  I am a reading and math intervention teacher at Monroe. I have been at Monroe for 14 years now.   For four years I taught first grade.  I was also a Reading Recovery teacher and Literacy Specialist for several years. Three years ago, I wanted to get back to just working with students, and so I am a Supplemental Teacher, which means I do reading and math intervention.  I also coordinate our before school programs, document Title 1 compliance, and organize our math and reading family nights, as well as bring together a parent advisory committee.  Before coming to Monroe, I attended Grinnell College, in Iowa.  After graduating with degree in Psychology, I worked in early childhood for the YWCA in Minneapolis for 10 years.  I then got my elementary teaching license and Masters at the University of Minnesota in 2002.  I taught 5th grade at an alternative school and 1st grade at a charter school in Minneapolis before teaching 3rd grade at Hoover.
I live in Minneapolis with my husband, our 23 year-old nephew and our two cats. I enjoy anything outside, including gardening, biking, hiking, skiing, and swimming. You might even see my riding my bike to or from school. I love teaching at Monroe!
My goal is to grow lifelong readers!  I look forward to working together to make that happen!
  • My schedule varies based on student needs.
