    Welcome to

    American Sign Language!
     ASL

I am blessed to have been teaching American Sign Language at Andover High School since we opened in 2002.  I teach ASL1 and ASL2 and the best part of my job is our students here at Andover!  I encourage all students to complete a minimum of 2 years of a language to prepare for college.  BONUS:  Taking a language uses the creative side of your brain and has been proven to make you smarter!

Before coming to the Anoka District, I worked for the District 916 EARS Program teaching mainstreamed hard of hearing students.  I graduated from Augustana College (Sioux Falls, SD) in 1984 with teaching degrees in both Deaf Education and Elementary Education.

My husband and I have 3 grown daughters and we are empty nesters in Maple Grove.  We enjoy home projects, vacationing, and entertaining.  I also enjoy walking and reading in my spare time.

Thank you for supporting World Language learning and exposing your student to Deaf Culture.  I am excited to work with your student and watch them grow in their ASL skills.  Please email me with any questions or concerns you may have.
