Welcome to Grade 6 ELA and Minnesota Studies!

I am a proud graduate of Anoka-Hennepin.  I grew up in Coon Rapids and attended Mississippi Elementary, Coon Rapids Junior High, and Coon Rapids Senior High.  After graduating Summa Cum Laude from St. Cloud State University with licenses in elementary education and social studies, I began teaching at Sand Creek Elementary.  Seven years later, I moved to Andover Elementary.

In 1995, I received my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Mary's University in Winona.  In 2001, I also earned a Technology Certificate from St. Mary's University in conjunction with TIES.  In 2002, I was hired at Jackson Middle School where I was given the opportunity to be a part of the sixth grade Math and Science Team. Then I moved to Oak View where I have taught science, math, Minnesota Studies, and ELA.

About me?  I LOVE sports.  I coach volleyball and track, and I play golf, volleyball, and fantasy football.  I love, love, love the Minnesota Wild!!! My kids love sports too, so I spend a lot of time at their events. Julia plays varsity soccer for Andover High School and also with the North Metro Academy.  I also love to read, write, sing, and hang with family and friends. 

I look forward to being your teacher and to learning all about YOU!  My goal is to foster a love of reading and learning in you and to encourage you to question, wonder, ponder, and imagine!   I can't wait to meet you!
