Welcome to our Classroom Website
Music has always been part of my life. For as long as I can remember, my parents sang in the church choir (and my sister and I sat in the front row!) My paternal grandmother taught piano lessons and played organ for silent movies and the roller-rink. (I am told grandpa played Honky-Tonk piano in the neighbor's basement!) My maternal grandmother's step-mother studied piano with the man who created the John Thompson Piano Method. I started piano lessons in third grade and my parents still have that piano which belonged to my grandfather's cousin. In high school, I decided I wanted to be a music teacher because I wanted to share my love of music with other students.
Although I also have an elementary classroom license, I have taught music in the Anoka-Hennepin District since 1996. I taught at Champlin Elementary (and eight other schools) until it was closed in 2010 and have had the pleasure of developing the music and choir programs at CBPA. While not every person will be a musician, I believe everyone can be musical. I look forward to sharing the joy of music with students and hope you will your support your child's musical growth.
