Welcome to our Classroom Website
My name is Hessen (Haisung) Lee Kiefer and I am an ESL teacher. I immigrated to the United States in 1982 from Inchon, South Korea when I was in 3rd grade. I first lived in the Roseville area and then moved to Brooklyn Park where I attended Jackson Middle School and Anoka High School. After high school, I traveled back to South Korea as well as England, France and Canada. Having been a second language learner, as well as through my travels, I decided that I wanted to work with other English language learners. I attended the University of Minnesota for my Undergraduate and Hamline University for my ESL teaching licensure and Masters Degree in Education. I worked at Kaplan primarily with international college students from 1997-2004 as an international student adviser, curriculum writer, and TOEFL instructor. I switched over to elementary in 2004 and worked as an ESL teacher at Riverview Specialty School and currently work at CBPA as an ESL teacher.
My hobbies include reading, gardening, music, cooking, traveling and home improvement projects.
