Meet Ms. Miyagi
Hello! My name is Mari Miyagi. This is my first year in Anoka-Hennepin and at Evergreen Park World Cultures Community School. I have been teaching ESL (English as a Second Language) for 9 years. Prior to joining Evergreen Park, I taught elementary ESL in Farmington. I have also taught adult English learners in Wisconsin, and high school English in Tokyo, Japan. I received my Master's degree in English Education from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Currently I am pursuing an additional license in Elementary Education, in order to be able to even better serve students.
I am originally from Japan. I grew up in Tokyo and I miss a lot of Japanese food! So when I am not teaching, I love cooking Japanese food, watching Japanese TV shows, and video chatting with my family. I also enjoy reading, listening to classical music, yoga, and watching football games!
Thank you for supporting your child's education! I appreciate your child's multicultural and multilingual background and experiences, which make learning even richer and more enjoyable. I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
