Hello! My name is Mrs. Dickey, and this is my fourth year at Roosevelt Middle! I am no stranger to Anoka-Hennepin because I attended schools in the district as a student, and graduated from Andover High School. I earned my degrees in Communication Arts and Literature as well as Dance Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato, and have been working in the district almost exclusively since. I am currently working on earning my masters degree in Education from the College of St. Scholastica, and look forward to applying all of the knowledge I gain to our classroom.
I love traveling with my husband, watching movies, and playing with our yorkiepoo, Minnie. In addition, I like watching hockey, football, and gymnastics; especially during the Olympics! I also enjoy scrapbooking, card-making, and all things crafty/Pinterest-y, but one thing you should know about me is that I absolutely love all things Harry Potter. (Our dog, Minnie, is actually named after Minerva McGonagall!) In looking back on the years of growing up with the series, I have realized that Harry Potter solidified my love for books. After I found what interested me, my reading options exploded, and I have been avidly reading ever since. I hope we can find that hook and reel book/series for all students this year to really help us love reading.
Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
