    Welcome to our Classroom Website

Jenny Pennaz, a Minnesota native, graduated from the University of Minnesota with bachelor's degrees in dance and biology and completed a post-baccalaureate certificate in Contemporary Studies in Dance from the Federal University of Bahia in Brazil. She holds a K-12 Dance & Theater teaching license and completed a Master of Arts in Teaching from Hamline University where she studied the impact of interdisciplinary dance algebra curriculum and instruction. Ms. Pennaz has also studied ballet and Modern dance at Minnesota Dance Theater, North Carolina School of the Arts, SUNY Purchase, and the Arizona Ballet. She trained in capoeira (a Brazilian martial art form) with Capoeira Beribazu at the Federal University of Espirito Santo in Brazil. Ms. Pennaz has been teaching dance in the Twin Cities for over 15 years and absolutely loves it. She is a professional dancer and also the managing director of Contempo Physical Dance, non-profit professional dance company that fuses Afro-Brazilian dance, capoeira and contemporary dance. This is her first year at Anoka Middle School for the Arts and she is excited to work with a dynamic group of middle school students. Ms. Pennaz loves spending time doing activities with her 18 month old daughter, including going to the park, visiting the zoo and, of course, dancing!

Thank you for supporting your student's education! I am excited to work with your child and watch their growth. Together we can help your child achieve success!
