Hello!  I am a Literacy Intervention Teacher (LIT) and 1st grade Explorations (Social Studies) teacher at CBPA. As a LIT, I help support teachers and students with foundational skills and comprehensive skills of reading.  I have been teaching for 20 years and received my Undergraduate at Augsburg College and my Masters Degree at St. Mary's University. I have also taken numerous reading courses at St. Thomas University. I love seeing kids get that sparkle in their eyes when a connection has been made in learning!  Please make time to read with your child. It allows a fantastic opportunity to talk and share together.  It is a new adventure with every turn of a page!

As an Explorations teacher, the children and I are  learning about Citizenship, Geography, and History (changes over time).  I enjoy giving children the chance to learn, talk, share, and discover.  Hopefully, through our learning community, we will make the world a kinder place!

When I am not at CBPA, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family.  I love to garden, bake, read, play games, and exercise. Some of my favorites: warm dark roast coffee with cream, decadent desserts, romping Shih-Tzu puppies, colorful flowers, swaying birch trees, and flitting butterflies!

I want to thank you for supporting your child's education!  I am excited to work with your child and watch their social, emotional, and academic growth!
