Welcome to the Reading Department Website
My name is Diane Ludwig and I am the reading teacher and department leader at Andover High School. This is my 23rd year of teaching, and I am proud to say that I have been part of the Andover High School community since the school opened in 2002. This year, I will be working with our striving readers both in and out their content-area classrooms; I will also work alongside teachers to incorporate additional complex texts and challenging reading tasks in disciplinary classrooms. It is truly a pleasure to help prepare your child to be college, career, and life ready!
I graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a teaching degree in English and a minor in Spanish. Though I absolutely love learning and teaching English, I soon realized that I have an equal passion for working with striving readers. Thus, I began taking courses in teaching secondary reading at the University of Minnesota. I eventually enrolled in a formal program for reading licensure (grades k-12) through Hamline University. I have also completed various courses at St. Cloud State University and St. Catherine's University. Essentially, I love to learn and I strive to share that enthusiasm with my students.
After school, students can often find me tutoring in Husky House. In my free time, I enjoy reading, fishing, making quilts, crocheting, and learning new things.
Thank you for all of your support! I am excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your child this year!!
