Northdale Middle School

 

 

This is my 22nd year of teaching in the Anoka-Hennepin school district.  I spent my first three years of teaching at the elementary level, and the last nineteen have been here at Northdale Middle School; I plan to spend the rest of my career at NMS!  While at Northdale, I have taught both math and ELA.  When a spot opened up in social studies, I snapped it up right away because this is the subject area I have always wanted to teach.  This will be my 6th year solely teaching social studies.
 
I have three sons:  my oldest is a freshman in college, my middle is a junior in high school, and my youngest is a sixth grader just entering middle school himself.  My husband is an assistant principal at a middle school in the district, so between us, we have a ton of experience with middle school children. I absolutely enjoy this age level and all of the excitement that comes with being 11-12 years old!
 
I'm teaching the age group I love, in the subject area I thoroughly enjoy, at a school I consider "home"; Life is good!
