Northdale Middle School

Welcome to 8th Grade Global Studies! My name is Shaun Felegy, and this is my 15th year teaching--13th year at Northdale Middle School--Go Vikings!. I graduated from UW-La Crosse (Go Eagles!) in 2004 with majors in Secondary Education and History, a minor in Political Science, and emphases in Geography, Sociology, and Psychology. I also have a Master's Degree in Education Leadership from Concordia University. My wife is also a teacher in the district, and we are super excited that our son will be beginng his educational adventure this year in District 11! 

In addition to teaching, I am also the NMS Musical Theatre Director, an NMS WEB Coordinator, and Knowledge Bowl Coach. In my spare time I enjoy baseball, cooking, watching the second best show on television, traveling with my family, and occasionally cleaning up around the house. Occasionally.

This year, Ms. Aman, Ms. Beck, and I are prepared to take the learning we normally do in Global Studies and ramp it up a notch! By this I mean we are going to do a lot of skill based learning, examining data, establishing trends, and then making extrapolations based on those trends. To be sure, this is going to be difficult, but we believe it is a necessary skill for an ever changing world.
