• What is Chamber Orchestra? 

    Chamber Orchestra is an enrichment activity for qualifying 7th and 8th grade orchestra students at OVMS. This group is for students who are excelling in orchestra that can thrive and benefit from the extra practice, more difficult music and leadership training that comes with participating in this group.

    Cost 

    There is no membership fee. Other costs for field trips, t-shirts etc. will be kept to $50 or less for the year.

    Rehearsals

    We will rehearse once per week on Tuesdays from 7:30-8:15 A.M. Weekly and timely attendance is expected for the year.


    Auditions

    Students who participated last year and have already auditioned do not need to re-audition.
    All other students must audition.  Students can choose a piece from their book or another solo piece to perform for Ms. Pavot. Auditions are necessary to keep the group instrumentation balanced and to avoid frustration among the players. The music will be difficult for 7th grade students!!! If in your audition it becomes clear that you are not ready for the challenge, I will ask that you wait and re-audition in either January (if space allows) or the following year.

    Auditions will be held in early October.

    More information will be sent home with interested students in late September.
