Device Protection Plan available to students assigned Chromebooks
(07/28/2022) Technology plays an important role in preparing students for life, and Chromebooks are utilized as a daily learning tool in Anoka-Hennepin middle and high school classrooms. Anoka-Hennepin students in grades 6-12 are assigned a Chromebook from the school district to ensure access to technology systems that support classroom learning.

Anoka High School hosts first in-person STEAM Expo
(06/02/2022) Anoka High School (AHS) held its first in-person senior capstone event for The Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) Program on May 25 when school staff, families and community members were invited to the school for the AHS STEAM Expo.

Students motivate Anoka High School teacher in Fargo Marathon victory
(05/27/2022) Anoka High School - Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Music (AHS) physical/health education teacher and coach Sam Westerberg started his marathon training cycle soon after the school’s boys cross country team qualified for the state meet for the first time in 42 years. On May 21 he won the Fargo Marathon and now hopes to inspire his students with his victory.

Anoka High School teacher Doug Orr earns Minnesota DECA Honorary Life Membership Award
(04/06/2022) Anoka High School business teacher Doug Orr was recognized as the 2022 recipient of the Minnesota DECA Honorary Life Membership Award at the state conference March 6-8 at the Hyatt Regency in Minneapolis.

2021-22 Above & Beyond Awards winner: Kim Corbey
(04/01/2022) Perseverance, creativity and flexibility are at the core of Kim Corbey’s teaching philosophy, which she has developed in her 34 years as an educator. For 32 years, Corbey has been teaching English at Anoka High School and all the while inspiring students and fellow employees.

Two years of travel impacts along Highway 10 in Anoka start Monday, March 28
(03/23/2022) Anoka-Hennepin Schools transportation department has been busy planning for potential impacts to the 88 routes that access this area along with potential delays for employees traveling to the Anoka-Hennepin Educational Services Center.

Anoka High School STEAM Professional Review Night gives students boost for final trimester
(03/11/2022) Anoka High School - Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (AHS) seniors in the honors design and development class have been working hard all trimester on their final capstone project prototypes, and on March 3 they got a boost from the community when the school hosted its first in-person STEAM Professional Review Night.

Anoka High School student earns unique opportunity to perform at Carnegie Hall
(02/25/2022) Elise Gross, a senior at Anoka High School - Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), was selected for the 2022 High School Honors Performance Series at Carnegie Hall in New York City and participated in a performance at the famed venue on Feb. 6.

Anoka High School alum speaks about her path to the corporate world just one year after graduation
(12/15/2021) Susan Sama graduated from Anoka High School - Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) in 2020 and for the past year has been working full-time as a software engineer at Target Corporation. She returned to the AHS Auditorium Dec. 9 to speak to juniors in the STEAM program about her post-graduate path to the corporate world and to encourage seeking opportunities in early career exploration.

AHS students Layla and Antonia “Tony” Alm compete for Puerto Rico at the Amerigol LATAM Cup in Florida
(11/17/2021) Congratulations to Layla (11) and Antonia "Tony" Alm (9) who represented team Puerto Rico at the Women's Hockey LATAM Amerigol Cup in Florida last month. The team took home the Gold in their inaugural year at international play.
