16 Anoka-Hennepin educators earn master’s degrees through Work and Learn program, a partnership with the University of St. Thomas
(06/07/2023) Anoka-Hennepin and the University of St. Thomas have a partnership that provides hands-on experience to support success in future teaching careers. Sixteen Anoka-Hennepin employees participating in the Grow Your Own program recently graduated from the University of St. Thomas with master’s degrees and teaching licensure in special education through the Work and Learn Program.

Open enrollment period for health insurance benefits begins May 30
(05/23/2023) The open enrollment period for health insurance benefits is May 30-June 13 with the effective date of September 1, 2023. Open enrollment materials will be delivered to each employee’s building mailbox on Tuesday, May 30.

District to discontinue use of Screencastify August 1, 2023
(05/10/2023) After three years, Anoka-Hennepin will no longer purchase Screencastify for staff use. This tool was purchased during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic to support teachers and staff with video creation, and is no longer being used by a number of staff.

(05/04/2023) Jacque Weidner, a special education teacher at Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts, has been recognized as a 2022-23 Above & Beyond Awards recipient. Weidner made a mid-trimester move from River Trail Learning Center to Lincoln, a school that was facing staff shortages in its DCD centerbase program. Through her experience, work ethic and caring attitude, the program at Lincoln flourished with more stability for students and staff.
