CAPE Childcare Center & ECFE Get New Playground

Children playing on playground

The CAPE Child Care Center started the school year with a new playground! The
CAPE Center was previously sharing a playground with ECFE. This was not the
ideal playground set up for the age of the children at the CAPE Center. The
climber was too big for the young children and the lay out of the space presented
challenges in allowing the young children to freely explore the outdoor
environment.

Thanks to a partnership between the CAPE Center and the Early Head Start
Program of Anoka County we were able to procur a grant that paid for the
equipment and installation of a turf play surface. The district was able to assist
with preparing the ground and space along with fencing the area in. Now the
Infants and Toddlers have a beautiful play space that is age appropriate for our
small crawlers up to our curious climbers. Outside time has become a great
extension to our curriculum and learning.
