Special Education positions for Extended School Year are available
(04/18/2025) Anoka-Hennepin is seeking teachers and paraeducator staff for summer Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) programs at the elementary and secondary levels.
An appropriate license is required to teach ESY; however, a teacher without a special education license can obtain out-of-field permission. If interested in a summer position, the district will apply for an out-of-field permission on your behalf. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 2.
If you are considering adding a special education license in the future, this could be a great opportunity to gain short-term experience in the field.
The ESY program has been shortened this summer. Teacher hours for the ESY program are 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day on the following dates:
- Monday, June 16 - Friday, June 20 (No session on June 19 in observance of Juneteenth).
- Monday, June 23 - Friday, June 27.
