Update: Payroll practice changes for 2025-26 school year
(05/19/2025) Changes for how staff members submit and approve time are coming for the 2025-26 school year. Beginning in July, the district will be making changes to some payroll practices that will impact how many employees will be compensated and need to record their work time.
-
All staff will enter absences in Skyward for reporting purposes and will replace the previous practice of filling out salmon cards. Instructions regarding the process of entering absences in Skyward will be provided before July 1.
-
Hourly staff will also move to reporting their hours worked through Time Tracking.
Time clocks have been installed at each school and initial training opportunities will be offered to employee groups June - September of 2025. Stay tuned for updates in upcoming issues of In the Know.
Why it matters: The changes are aligned with fiscal best practices and the payroll practices of most other school districts and employers, intended to streamline payroll operations, and ensure greater accuracy and efficiency in processing payments.
