Many different staff utilized to get elementary teachers set for distance learning
(03/27/20) On one hand, Anoka-Hennepin staff have been working hard to get students the technology they need for distance learning. On the other hand, staff have also been working hard to get teachers the resources they need.
On March 23, a number of First Student buses stopped at the Educational Service Center (ESC) in Anoka to load up a different kind of precious cargo: 311 MacBook Air laptops that were tested and setup for grade four and five elementary school teachers to use as Anoka-Hennepin puts its distance learning plan into action. The buses then delivered the laptops to teachers at elementary schools across the district. See photos of the laptops being loaded onto buses.
In a distance learning setting, the teachers and curriculum remain the same, only the method of delivery changes. For kindergarten through grade three students, distance learning will come in the form of a blended paper/digital model. For students in grades four through 12, distance learning will be a digital model using technology platforms such as Google Classroom.
