District to participate in the Summer Food Service Program
(05/28/2021) The Anoka-Hennepin School District will participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) once again this summer. Meals will be provided to all children 18 and under, free of charge.
Meals will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, at 13 sites across the district. The program will start Thursday, June 17. Meal availability and serving times vary from site to site. Review this list of sites and meal times for more information (versión en español). Updated 07/21/2021
Meals will be served inside the school buildings. Parents accompanying their children may purchase a meal. Adult breakfast is $3.00 and lunch is $5.00. Exact change required, and no checks will be taken. Anoka-Hennepin employees may use their meal accounts.
The summer food service program was created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ensure that children could continue to receive nutritious meals during summer break, when they may not have access to school breakfast or lunch.
The district continues its support of Every Meal in our communities as they work to ensure the availability of meal bags at community sites to help children and families who may be experiencing food insecurity. Every Meal provides access to food that is nutritious, delicious and relevant.
