Jackson Middle School students take first and second place at math contest
(05/21/2024) Jackson Middle School (JMS) seventh-grade students Andrew Coan and Patrick Navratil took the top two places in the seventh grade division and they also led the JMS team to capture first place in the St. Cloud State Mathematics Contest held April 11. Sydney Hagel is the third member of the JMS team.
The St. Cloud State Mathematics Competition hosted 33 schools with 912 participants from across Minnesota and Wisconsin in grades 7-12. Students from Anoka-Hennepin Schools who participated and finished in either the top five percent or top ten percent are listed below and were recognized at the May 6 Anoka-Hennepin School Board meeting.
- Anoka Middle School for the Arts - Kolden Johnson, Riley Podany, Ava Rengo.
- Coon Rapids Middle School - Ethan Altepeter, Hannah Poser, Taj Mohamed.
- Jackson Middle School - Andrew Coan, Sydney Hagel, Britta Moll, Patrick Navratil, Isley Sammler, Cooper Anderson, Jack Bell, Lara Deschene, Courtney Gluth, Ekavir KC, Zachary Sollom, Braden Gran, Jonathan Hennessy, Rowan Hess.
- Northdale Middle School - Henry Carney, Lucas Hilker, Firdawsa Mohamed, Matthew JundPage Dahlman, Jessica Pham.
- Oak View Middle School - Michael Jones, Samuel Borene, Allison Kresh, Scarlett Browne, Thomas Molenaar, Dorothy Froiland, Chloe Kumpel, Foster Montgomery.
