District participating in the Summer Food Service Program
(05/22/2020) The Anoka-Hennepin School District is participating in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) once again this summer. Meals are being provided to all children 18 and under, free of charge.
Meals are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis, at 12 sites across the district. Meals are available from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. daily. Meals will not be available on Friday, July 3, but two days' worth of meals will be provided on July 2. Services will resume July 6.
Summer food service sites:
- Anoka High School.
- Blaine High School.
- Coon Rapids Middle School.
- Evergreen Park World Cultures Community School.
- Jackson Middle School - A Specialty School for Math and Science.
- Johnsville Elementary School.
- Lincoln Elementary School for the Arts.
- Mississippi Elementary School.
- Morris Bye Elementary School.
- Northdale Middle School.
- Oak View Middle School.
- University Avenue Elementary School - Aerospace, Children's Engineering and Science.
Food will be distributed in the parking lots of select school sites that have been designated as meal pickup locations, similar to the school-year meal access plan that was implemented during distance learning.
The summer food service program was created by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to ensure that children could continue to receive nutritious meals during summer break, when they may not have access to school breakfast or lunch.
