(01/23/2025) University Avenue Elementary School - Aerospace, Children’s Engineering and Science has been named a 2025 Magnet Schools of America (MSA) School of Distinction.

MSA national merit awards are given to magnet schools that demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards, curriculum innovation, successful desegregation and diversity efforts, and strong parent and community involvement. To be considered for a merit award, member schools must submit an application scored by a panel of educators.

MSA is a nonprofit organization that supports and assists magnet schools nationwide and represents approximately 4,300 magnet and theme-based schools nationwide.

University Avenue ACES follows the rigorous Anoka-Hennepin district curriculum but has woven the specialty focus throughout core curriculum areas, as well as through special added-value events and partnerships including, but not limited to, working with such groups as the Anoka-County Blaine Airport, Civil Air Patrol (CAP), Jackson Middle School Observatory (JMO), STARBASE Minnesota, and National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).
