9/29/25
Good morning, Anoka Middle School for the Arts students and staff. Today is
Monday, September 29, Day 1 on your schedule. This is Mr Hagerty with your morning announcements.
Lunch Today: Mac and Cheese with Shrimp Poppers
I pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.
Tomorrow, September 30th, is Orange Shirt Day. This day raises awareness about the impacts
of residential schools in Canada and boarding schools in the United States, where Native
children were forced to give up their languages and cultures.
Orange Shirt Day was inspired by Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken away on
her first day of school. For years, orange reminded her of that painful experience, but as an
adult she reclaimed the color and began the movement.
Tomorrow, we wear orange to honor survivors, remember the children who never came home,
and show that every child matters.”
Today is the LAST day to register for the Monster Glow Bash dance on Friday, October 3rd. All student MUST be registered by 6:00pm tonight in order to be able to attend.
Connection teachers, please share the connection slide presentation so that your students know the plan for this week during connections including DEAR day, intervention days and Character Strong. Please check the intervention list and send students to intervention at this time.
No matter who we are, no matter where we are…We are AMSA!
