9/30/25
Good morning, Anoka Middle School for the Arts students and staff. Today is Tuesday, September 30, Day 2 on your schedule.
Today for lunch: Orange Chicken
Today is Orange Shirt Day and the Day of Remembrance for U.S. Boarding Schools. These
schools removed Native children from their families and tried to erase their cultures, leaving
lasting pain in Native communities.
Phyllis Webstad’s story inspires this day—her orange shirt was taken away at school, and later she reclaimed the color as part of her healing. By wearing orange, we honor survivors,
remember the children who did not make it home, and stand in solidarity with Native
communities.”
Connections Teachers, please check the intervention list and send students to intervention at this time.
No matter who we are, no matter where we are…We are AMSA!
