Good Afternoon,
This is Gary Lundeen, Principal at Oak View Middle School.
We had a fantastic first week of school at Oak View Middle School! We are so impressed with such a great group of students and the tremendous support our families and community provide. With this level of support, it doesn’t surprise me that according to a recent school ranking website, SchoolDigger, Oak View student performance is ranked in the top ninety-sixth percentile among all public and charter middle schools in the state of Minnesota.
- This upcoming week, students will take the Measure of Academic Performance (MAP) reading test. These tests will take place in students’ regularly scheduled ELA classes. The week of September 16th, students will take their math MAP test during their math class. Please encourage your student to do their best on these tests as we refer to this data to measure student growth and for future course placement decisions.
- This Wednesday, September 11th, students will receive information about our annual fundraiser. Watch for more information closer to mid-week.
- Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Friday, September 13th. All students who did not have their pictures taken at Jamboree will do so on this date. Families may order photos by either sending in the order envelope with payment or by using the online option available from our web site. We expect pictures from our August 14 Jamboree to be sent home with students early this week. If parents or students are dissatisfied with their pictures from Jamboree, they may return their photo envelope and have them retaken this Friday.
Have a great weekend!
