Good Evening.


This is Gary Lundeen, Principal at Oak View Middle School.


This is a reminder that students and parents can pick up mediations, instruments and personal locker items tomorrow, Thursday, March 26 or Friday, March 27. In order to limit the number of people in the building at a given time, we ask that you make every effort to stop by the building on your designed date, during your designated time. We have designated Thursday for students with last names that begin with A through L (spread out hourly) and Friday for students with last names that begin with M through Z (spread out hourly). Please see the detailed scheduled in the email, which is also posted to our school website.  If a parent believes it’s necessary to come in to assist their student (carrying items, etc.), that is okay; however, parents are not required to come inside the building.  Additionally, students do not have to be present to collect items – a parent can pick up belongings on their own. If you cannot come on your designated day, or choose not to do to safety concerns, we understand and will look to set up additional times next week.


Directions to assist the process run as smoothly as possible:

  • Kids and/or parents enter through the main, front doors.
  • If you have media books that you would like to return, we will have bins for those – although this is not required at this time
  • Any medications that need to be picked up will be in the foyer with our nurse.
  • If you need to pick up an instrument, our music staff will guide you through the process in the music area.
  • All locker items have been bagged, labeled and placed in alphabetical order in our gyms by grade level.  So, students will report to their grade level gym (the gyms will be labeled by grade) to grab their locker contents and exit through their gym door.
  • NOTE:  the gym door exits are on the southeast corner of the building.  I recommend parents park on the south end of the lot to allow for a shorter walk for kids carrying items, but I’ll leave that courtesy up to you.


We know that students have other items in classrooms and PE lockers.  These items are not essential at this time.  We will communicate future plans to get these items distributed as necessary.  Staff will be present to guide the process along to support parents and kids navigate the one-way system.  Thank you for your patience and support.  We miss your kids and hope everyone is well.  Take care.
